Eldritch tarot cards, now there's a LOT of design and art potential there!

Thetageist responds:

Lol, I know somebody who either is making some or would love that idea. (I forgot whether it’s already happening.) I’ll tell her you said this.

I feel like the term "eldritch" has been a bit overused or used too lightly in recent years for what I am about to say to have as much impact as it could have, which may make me sound like a snob. But this is something that I think is truly deserving of that word as a descriptor.

There is clear horror, an abominable beauty, within the the body that seems made of a spine, if spines were made of ribcages and the horrific maw adorned with eyes and aided by great and horrible pincers.
But there is a horror from a surreal point of view too, of something that one would see in jewelry or in an art piece for a museum. Its limbs are connected to one another like a straitjacket of bone and sinew, carrying a shape of its namesake like jewelry, and yet made of the same body that it decorates.

Incredibly striking creature in design alone, and helped all the more by the environment and techniques. Fuppin' beautiful

Wow, thank you so much for the nice comment! :0 ^^

"Show them why we call it... Splatterhouse"

*wait, wrong bloody post-apocalyptic hack-and-slash/character action game.

The paint/water looks *so* good, as does the shine on War's armor. War in general looks almost 1-to-1 from the game.
Nice work having adopted his hair into the Splatoon tentacle hair, they have a pleasant almost transparent effect.
And one could only imagine what manner of carne the Chaoseater paint roller would leave on the broken canvas of the Kingdom of Man. Great work there too adopting the faces onto the weapon.

I came here from the thread about drawing attractive people, clicked on your profile since you mentioned you love drawing monsters, recognized an art piece i faved of you earlier (the Biohazard mask), but ALSO recognized these awesome cadaverous leviathans from Darksiders 2! I had seen those before on DeviantArt and faved them too!

Older pieces as this may be, you more than deserve to be proud of it. It is heartening to see Darksiders still being inspirations, and your art and skills themselves are on a level that I would be hard-pressed to find elsewhere.
Incredible detail and coloring. I can practically hear the theme of the Dead Plains and the Eternal Throne fading into mind already. Which may partially be thanks to having listened to the Darksiders 2 OST so often.

Regardless: Just glad to have found this, and wish you a lot of good and fun on future projects, art or otherwise.

RavenCorona responds:

Thank you for all your kind words!! It really means a lot to me! ^^

"Drew this quickly" well I'm jealous.

Kikamations responds:

XD thanks ^^

Interesting. The dress itself seems quite formal and subdued in color, but the pointed cuffs and especially the orange part of the hair give an edge to it, an almost punk-like feeling.
I wonder if i'm not mistaking the purple for hair while actually being a furred hood or something.

Interesting techniques on the shading and especially the lighting on the hair and eyes! Very neat background too, the serpentine blue streaks help selling that distressed and intense feeling.

Was there ever any story to this character, if it's alright to ask?

Kikamations responds:

Thank you for such an in depth look into my work! I really appreciate it!
The design was more of a little colour test, didn't think much about what thr individual elements are. what you mentioned was purple is in fact hair ! And no i didn't come up with any story! :]

That looks likea mighty interesting project she's working on. I dare assume it may be a smaller part of a larger whole, like some form of combat robot or vehicle. Or perhaps not even combat.
I can imagine such an ape-like body, from the looks of it, being very useful in a garage or other environment where a lot of devices are hanging around, to be inspected, analyzed and repaired from all sides.
Great strong lineart and anatomy.

usainBoltron responds:

I definitely imagine her climbing the scaffolding of her workshop/garage to inspect projects that are hanging from the ceiling because she ran out of room to store them on the ground. Also, working on large projects is a little easier for her cause she can climb to hard to reach places and hold extra tools with her feet :D

She looks interesting. In design, but especially in terms of art style.

This is super flipping pretty and pleasant. The view on the ocean at first glance *seems* simple, but yet there's a lot to see for those willing to look.
Like the smudges on the roof tiles, for example. The glistening in the water, and those big clouds on the horizon. Flip me, those clouds look *nice*.

That's looking *very* good. Not familiar with the characters myself, but that won't stop me from really liking the techniques you used for the shading and lighting, with the purple for the shaded and yellow for the lighted parts. Nice poses as well and i love the way the colors of the pupils fade from the pink-ish into the yellow.
Only thing i'm not as fond of is the background.

After writing that last paragraph, read the backgrounds now and recall reading about Honey's crossover in Fighting Vipers to Sonic, after getting interested in it through Matt McMuscles video on FV2 and doing some research.

In any case, just a real good piece.
