It's time to cut the strings. Very nasty. I hope that she'll be able to get those hooks out of her.
That is easier said than done in horror tales, especially aftear reading on your main page how your comic will turn out. But still.
If she's of the right strength of mind after getting out of this situation, perhaps she can turn her proverbial shackles as a trophy. A reminder of where she was stuck where she is now, and do something artistic and more meaningful with them. Like using the strings for a music instrument.

Came here after your reply on the art styles thread. Quite sick (in the good way, like a skater dude giving a compliment) and very striking art. I'll be sure to have more of a look around.
I thought this was a bunny at first but then i saw in your description that this character's part nudibranch. Really neat to see different animals than the usual being used for the designs of characters.

maniczombiedreamgirl responds:

a lot of people think my fursona's a bunny, haha. even with the big ol' slug tail!

From a random person on the internet, well wishes to you in all that requires your attention, with strength and fortune where needed and fun where you may find, make and share it.

Take care as well as a cookie when nobody's looking, and may creation ever bring you joy.

Like i said in the main thread, I appreciate this action pose a lot, but also that you included the sketch to show the different perspective you tried. Shows a bit extra of the design process that I appreciate.
Your shading and lighting is interesting, the dress kinda looks like it's reflecting some sort of shine from outside the frame or the clouds.

I see that you worked quite precisely for the axe to have the skull engravements on the pommel and the head match the original closely, as well as how the side bit on the axe head is longer on the big blade side than the smaller blade side.
What stands out to me too is how the axe seems a bit heftier and bigger than in the original drawing, and it feels quite right.

Neat environment too, i like the colors of the grass and sky and appreciate the clouds drifting through to break it up.
All in all, a nice job!

Yoooooo dude, you got featured on the main art page already! Very sweet work!

With how unhinged Puanani can be, I reckon you're going to get many people who want to see more of her and about her in the rest of Cookie Cutter.
Perhaps Ronin too, but i hope Senor buttercake or whatever-his-name was, alongside big-sleeve pajama monk, security guard cricket, alien eye slug tourist etc. -- basically, most characters, will get a memorable presence in the Megastructure as Subcult Joint further builds it up.

Congrats again on having your Puanani on the main page!

My first ever set with a big fig was the Troll battle wagon. Still have that one somewhere. Seeing love in a cool and skilled art style like this is sweet and heartening.
Love your coloring, lighting and shading, and the proportions and shape for the giant troll feel *right*.

This one looks like a roight ol' scamp, they do. Still with a fondness of goofy stuff, in multiple aspects.
I really like that lighting you did for the body, especially the head!

Some things that stand out most to me here are the effects (stars and splotches) and the background.

What's the story and ideas to this character?

Bleak-Creep responds:

I really don't do a whole lot of backstory planning for most of my character designs beyond "a woman that would eviscerate you" most of the time, haha.

Gneeeehehehehehe

The comment by ShangXian on this drawing is more profound than I could put into words and rings quite true for me as well.
On top of that, this is one of the gnarliest and most pleasantly illustrated monsters i've seen all month, especially thanks to the kinds of brushes/texturing/techniques you used for giving it the shape and presnece it has.
Man, I love monsters that go all-out on being so weird and horrific. But to see such a beast in all its unapologetic grotesqueness, tied to a tale of kindness and sweetness (in this case with a morbid side to it in regards to the people that chased them) , is quite heartening.

Awesome job. If you ever make a story with these, i wish you a lot of good luck and fun on it.

For a moment i thought this was some sort of monster/corpse state version of Manny Calavera. Pretty sick work with both forms of shading.

0pabinia responds:

I can see how you saw that! The strange design of the head shape and everything was drawn with absolutely no planning, a very meditative process that was fun to indulge in. Im super glad you enjoy it! <3
